Why retromops?

BACK TO THE ROOTS ...
For decades, cynologists and veterinarians have been warning of the dangers of over-typing individual dog breeds. I breed a pug dog like you knew it in the 50s and 60s: a bit more long-legged, agile and strong with balanced proportions and a prominent catch section that leaves more space for tongue and soft palate. His eyes are well embedded and protected in the eye sockets. - So away from the extreme, away from the flat-faced, rather clumsy type of mop of today.

In fact, in the current situation, the pug is genetically standardized and so impoverished that selection breeding for an extended section of the muzzle appears to be less promising.

The breeding introduction of a healthy animal of a suitable foreign breed and the subsequent displacement breeding back to the breed pug leads us back to the genetically richer and therefore healthier pug dog!
