A puppy is moving in -
Our tips and ideas for you

The time has come.
The family council has decided and a puppy will move in with you.
You have found a breeder and now it is time to prepare the arrival of the small ball of fur.
The simplest first - the basic equipment:
  • Dog bed
  • Bowl
  • Lining
  • rope
  • dishes
Can he - or shouldn't he?
  • Where should he sleep?
  • Can he go to the bedroom, the kitchen, the basement or the bathroom?
  • Can he get on the couch?
  • Which of you goes out to pee at night?
  • When is there food?

Can it stay put or does it have to go? -
Is the apartment safe from puppies?

  • What are the sources of danger for the puppy?
  • What things have a high ideal value and could not be replaced if the puppy got them between their pointed milk teeth?
  • What things are very expensive?
  • Are power and other cables accessible to the puppy?
  • Are the sockets childproof?
  • Kennel for the night?
  • Is the floor very slippery and do we have to lay out carpets?
Puppy knowledge:

  • How long can a puppy go for a walk?
  • How much and how often should I feed?
  • What does a puppy eat?
  • What do you need to know about the topic "children and puppies"?

Since a little mishap can happen every now and then, we have the following
Recommended stock:
  • Tissuepaper !!!
  • Odor remover spray especially for animals.
  • Depending on the nature of the soil, the corresponding can be obtained. For example, for textiles, hard and soft floors, wood or plastic, etc. The specialist trade has a lot to offer. Odor remover is particularly important if there are other dogs or cats living in the household.
  • We also got a small UV flashlight so that we can find the smallest urine stains more easily. They glow neon green under UV light. This has helped us many times during the puppy years.
The drive from the breeder home

We practice driving with our puppies, but you should still prepare for an emergency, because puppies can get seasick and vomit when driving.

For the car trip:
  • Planket,
  • Replacement blanket
  • Bowl,
  • water
  • Leash and harness
  • Kitchen roll
  • Trash bags
  • Manure bag
  • Food if the journey lasts more than 6 hours.
No welcome party!

We personally give our own new puppies a lot of rest at the beginning. Moving to the new and leaving the family is very tiring. There is so much to explore, smell and learn. This means that the small fur-nosed brain is busy for a few days. The first 1-2 days our parents come to visit.

The first meeting with other pack members

We recommend the first meeting with other dogs at home in the light.
We always have all dogs with us when we collect them, so that the animals can pick up the smell of the newcomer while driving home.
If you are unsure, get a dog trainer.
The first night with a puppy

The first night is often difficult for the puppies because they have never spent a minute without being close to another being. It is unlikely that a puppy will spend the first night alone in a room without any problems.
A puppy may have to go out every 2 hours to release it. As soon as he wakes up, has finished playing or eating, it starts immediately. You may have to be quick. If you are a little foresighted, have your jacket, pants and shoes ready.
The first morning

The first morning, like every following morning, starts with fire training: jump into your ready clothes and, above all, take the puppy to the pee and go outside.

From here on it goes:
Eat-sleep-play-wee-poo - repeat
Many great seconds, hours, days, weeks, months and years as a team and family,

the team from the old oven wishes you
